The Kickstart Scheme – Application Deadline 17th December 2021
Job support
The government have made available funds to protect jobs & support employment, including the Kickstart Scheme, to support recruitment of young adults, and help for businesses to bring employees back from furlough. A major scheme launched in September 2020, to provide funding to employers to create jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit. The Kickstart Scheme is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs, with the aim of creating new, fully funded jobs across England, Scotland and Wales.
Funding for each job placement covers the following:
- 100% of the relevant national minimum wage for 25 hours a week
- the associated employer national insurance contributions
- employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
The 6 month placements are open to those aged 16-24 who are claiming Universal Credit, at risk of long term unemployment, and are available across a range of different sectors. There is also extra funding to support young people to build their experience and help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart funded job.
Applications are being accepted until 17th December 2021. Check the guidance for employers
